The current holders, who have won the competition three times on the bounce, showed their intent early on with a goal inside 90 seconds before triumphing 12-0 over SWPL 2 side St Johnstone at Ibrox.
Speaking to RangersTV to look back on the win in which there were six different scorers including five for Laura Berry, the Head Coach said: “Huge respect for St Johnstone coming here today and we know the type of game that it could have been, but that was only if you go about your business properly and you start the game well and you give them the respect that they deserve.
“A really professional performance, really pleased with how we got off the mark, inside a minute we open the scoring, and I think that probably tells you where the attitude and the mindsight was at and how the players treated it and went to get after the game.
“Really pleased, a barrel load of goals, really positive performances throughout. Minutes for players who have not necessarily had too many, players back on the pitch.
“The likes of Leah Eddie coming back in the second half, so that is really pleasing, and just the confidence overall of the group and the way they went about the game and the job was really pleasing.
“It is the type of game where it becomes quite comfortable early on.
“You can lose your way, though, and you can start to become complacent and start to do things that you wouldn't necessarily do in other weeks, and that was more the message.
“To really go and be hungry and get after it, do the basics really well, keep chasing it, keep working on the things that you might not always get the opportunity in different types of games.
“To enjoy having the ball and looking at building relationships all over the pitch.
“Loads of positives in terms of the performance. Great to see the likes of Laura hitting numbers. I know she chases it every week.
“She is desperate, she is hungry, and she wants to play and score. She has had some real big impacts for us already this season, whether it’s been from the start or off the bench.
“So today for her it's everything that a striker loves, hitting the back of the net.”
The Gers were boosted by the first minutes of the season for Leah Eddie, who made her return from injury, whilst the boss spoke of the personal milestone for striker Katie Wilkinson, who racked up the half-century of outings for the club.
She continued: “For Leah, it has been so frustrating. In terms of the time and the period that she has had to endure.
“I think throughout pre-season, a couple of different setbacks and different types of injuries, which have been a huge frustration for her and last season at points were really stop-start as well.
“For us, the important bit was making sure that we took time with Leah and ensuring that when she is back that she is now back and she can kick on and look to try and build those minutes.
“There has been no pressure in terms of that return to play, so for this type of game and the afternoon that it was and the game that it became, it is perfect to get her back into it and enjoy having the ball and leadership and the quality that she gives us. Is a real boost to the group to have that back, so hopefully we can continue to build on that.
“Wilko; obviously comes in off the bench today, 50th appearance and a ridiculous goalscoring record to go alongside that, which is a joke to be fair.
“Really pleased that she goes and hits the back of the net, I am not sure it would feel as sweet today if she didn't manage to do that.
“Another milestone for the group, Telma [Ivarsdottir] coming in today as well and playing, which was fantastic.
“More minutes for the likes of May [Cruft], midfielders scoring goals, so I could go through it, there is a whole list of positives and also a few things that we can certainly look at and always do better and improve, which we'll look at tomorrow.”
The Light Blues can now look forward to Tuesday afternoon’s quarter-final draw, as attention now turns to a mouthwatering matchup in the capital next weekend when they take on Hibs.
Crichton added: “Any cup game, it is always a nice shift in mindset, dependent on where you are in the season.
“The cups have been good and have been kind to the club in the last number of seasons.
“It is something that we have been able to thrive in, so it was good that we can progress, and we look forward to seeing the other teams that are in the hat and certainly the draw come Tuesday, we'll see where we land.
“Now focus will shift back to certainly a big and important game next week as we travel to Edinburgh.”
