Philippe Clement named two teams with a different eleven in the first-half and the second-half as the whole squad got a run out.
From the start, Robby McCrorie was in goal with a back four of James Tavernier, John Souttar, Leon Balogun and Ridvan.
Dujon Sterling, John Lundstram and Nico Raskin were in midfield, while Rabbi Matondo, Todd Cantwell and Fabio Silva provided the attack.
Rangers got the action underway and were threatening in the opening stages of this friendly. With six minutes played, Robby McCrorie found Rabbi Matondo on the left with a ball over the top and the winger did well to cut inside and get a shot away, but it was blocked by Tjark Ernst in the Hertha Berlin goal.
At the other end, Leon Balogun was alert to clear a dangerous cut back into the box from Derry Scherhant before Ridvan also blocked a shot from Marten Winkler as Hertha broke up the pitch from a Rangers corner.
John Lundstram came close to an opening goal in this game as he released a powerful strike at goal from the edge of the box. It looked set to be goalbound but Linus Gechter managed to get a touch on it with his head to divert it over for a corner.
Matondo had another strike at goal after he was played through by John Lundstram, but Ernst got down to hold the effort.
With less than five minutes to go before the break, Matondo and Cantwell linked up, with the former playing in Ridvan who had driven into the box, but his shot was saved by the goalkeeper.
It was the German side who took the lead on the stroke of half-time. A corner was swung into the box by Marten Winkler with Hertha’s captain Marc Kempf getting a flick on the cross with his head to send it beyond Robby McCrorie.
For the second-half, manager Philippe Clement named a new line-up with Jack Butland coming in between the sticks behind a back four of Robbie Fraser, Johnly Yfeko, Connor Goldson and Leon King.
Youngsters Bailey Rice and Cole McKinnon were joined in midfield by Jose Cifuentes while the front three for the second-half was made up of Ross McCausland, Scott Wright and Cyriel Dessers.
The Gers boss was shown a red card from the referee early in the second-half as protested a foul given against Scott Wright.
Wright managed to get an opening at goal shortly after as the ball broke for him outside the box, but he was unable to keep his shot on target as it dragged just wide.
Jack Butland pulled off a superb save with 64 minutes on the clock as Derry Scherhant before the Hertha goalkeeper was able to get a strong hand to a Cyriel Dessers shot shortly after.
The forward had another chance with five minutes of the game remaining as he got on the end of a lovely delivery from Robbie Fraser but was unable to connect to get a strike away at goal before Hertha managed to clear the danger.
