A Kemar Roofe goal on his first start for a year had Beale’s men ahead in Dingwall before James Tavernier doubled the scoring with a fine strike before half-time.
There were three changes from Tuesday evening’s UEFA Champions League play-off against PSV as Roofe, Sam Lammers and John Lundstram came into the starting XI with Ryan Jack, Jose Cifuentes and Abdallah Sima on the bench.
For Roofe, it was a welcome return from injury as he made his first start for the club since the Old Firm Scottish Cup semi-final victory in April 2022.
He came into the line-up alongside John Lundstram and Sam Lammers with Ryan Jack, Jose Cifuentes and Abdallah Sima on the bench.
It was a familiar back five in Dingwall with Jack Butland in goal with James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, John Souttar and Borna Barisic in front of him. John Lundstram started in midfield alongside Nico Raskin and Todd Cantwell, while Sam Lammers and Kemar Roofe supported striker Cyriel Dessers.
In the opening 10 minutes, Rangers had a fantastic opportunity to break the deadlock in Dingwall. The move started in the Rangers half, with Nico Raskin finding Todd Cantwell in an advanced position.
Cantwell picked out Roofe who took a touch onto his right foot before whipping a dangerous ball into the box in search of Cyriel Dessers at the back post but his header was blocked by Ross Laidlaw.
Sam Lammers had a sight of goal from a header shortly after as he got on the end of a cross from Nico Raskin but it was held by Laidlaw.
With 22 minutes played Rangers were ahead and it was a perfect return for Kemar Roofe as he got himself on the scoresheet. A corner was swung in from Borna Barisic with Roofe showing strength to get his foot on the ball. The striker was able to hold off the attention of defender James Brown and guide it low into the bottom corner beyond Ross Laidlaw.
The advantage was doubled on the 25th minute and it was a spectacular strike from captain James Tavernier. The full-back picked up the ball in the middle of the pitch and drove towards the Ross County goal.
With space, Tavernier caught sight of goal and from the edge of the area lifted a perfect right-footed strike over the goalkeeper which nestled in the top corner to double Rangers’ advantage.
Sam Lammers was unlucky not to have a goal on the stroke of half-time as his left-footed strike looked to be heading for the back of the net but Ross Laidlaw was able to get a glove to the shot to turn it behind for a Rangers corner.
Early in the second-half, County came close to getting a goal back in this match as Jordan White got his head to a cross but the forward was unable to keep his effort on target as it flashed wide of Jack Butland’s right-hand post.
With an hour played in the match, Beale introduced Abdallah Sima and Rabbi Matondo as he mixed up the forward line in Dingwall, with Kemar Roofe and Sam Lammers making way.
Matondo tested Laidlaw in the Ross County goal shortly after his introduction as he cut inside and released a powerful shot which was tipped over the bar by the goalkeeper.
Laidlaw pulled off another good save as Sima directed a header from close range on target following a Borna Barisic cross but he was denied by the goalkeeper.
Ross County had an opportunity to get one back as Josh Sims first just over with a powerful strike from inside the box.
There were a further two changes for Rangers as they looked to add to their scoring in the Highlands. Striker Danilo and Tom Lawrence were introduced in place of Todd Cantwell and Cyriel Dessers.
It was another boost for Beale and his squad as Lawrence made his first competitive appearance since August last year.
Danilo had a chance pushed away by Laidlaw with just over 10 minutes of the game remaining, before a final Rangers change saw Ryan Jack introduced in place of Nico Raskin.
Late in the game, Lundstram played through Matondo on the left and he drove towards goal but his effort was just inches wide of the post, with Abdallah Sima unable to get a touch in the box to tap it goalwards.
Rangers head back down the A9 with all three points and attention now turns to Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League play-off second-leg in Eindhoven.
