Player Biography
Kathy began her youth career with Rangers and spent five years in Glasgow before moving to the other side of the Atlantic to join Old Dominion University, where she spent two seasons.
The defender joined English side Durham in 2017, where she spent five years before making the return to Glasgow with the Gers in the summer of 2022.
Hill was named club captain for the 2022/23 season and got her hands on silverware by leading the side to their first-ever Sky Sports Cup success in December 2022, part of the side that kept a clean sheet in the final as they ran out 2-0 winners over Hibs at Tynecastle Stadium.
The centre-back has represented Scotland at Under-19 level, and her form towards the end of the last campaign saw her called up to the senior setup for the first time in April 2023. She remains the vice-captain as her experience and leadership have been invaluable to the squad and will continue to be needed for the season ahead.
Hill then featured heavily in the Gers backline in Jo Potter’s first season in charge, making 35 appearances in total as she got her hands on further silverware as a player, before also agreeing a two-year contract extension in the summer of 2024.
In the 2024/25 campaign, the defender was an impressive performer throughout as she got her hands on more silverware for her childhood club. Firstly, she was part of the backline that claimed a 5-0 win over Hibs at Fir Park to win a third Sky Sports Cup of her career before getting her hands on the Scottish Cup again in May.
Following knee surgery, she missed the entirety of the pre-season games programme ahead of last season but made her return on the opening day of the SWPL campaign in Head Coach Leanne Crichton’s first competitive game in charge. Scoring the final goal in a 6-1 win over Montrose at Links Park.
Injuries halted her throughout the 25/26 season, as she was limited to 19 appearances throughout in total; however, Hill did then put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension in June ahead of the new season getting underway.
