Player Biography

The 21-year-old put pen to paper on her first professional contract with the Light Blues in the summer of 2023, having come through the club’s youth academy.

She spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Hamilton Academical as she gained valuable experience playing in the SWPL, making 15 appearances and scoring on five occasions.

Capable of playing in both defence and attack, Austin has also featured for her country at both Under-17, Under-19 and most recently Under-23 level in the 24/25 campaign.

She enjoyed a breakthrough first season in professional football, having agreed pro terms for the first time in the summer of 2023. Going on to make 15 appearances in total, including an Old Firm start, as well as winning silverware with the club for the first time before putting pen to paper on new terms for the next two seasons.

Austin featured for the Gers on 11 occasions for the Light Blues in the first half of last season, before joining Motherwell in January on a loan deal until the end of the 24/25 campaign.

The appointment of Leanne Crichton proved to be pivotal for Austin’s development. Having filled in at various roles in the early part of the season, she became a vital member of the squad throughout the last campaign. Scoring an Old Firm winner in September 2025 and went on to rack up 31 appearances as she was named amongst the nominees for the club’s player and young player of the year.

Following a breakthrough season, the Scotland Under-23 international was handed a new two-year deal in July 2026. She started both UWCL qualifying outings in the mini-tournament held the following month, scoring the vital winner in the SK Slavia Praha game before her last-gasp equaliser got the side back on level terms, before ultimately falling to defeat to Ajax in the final.
