Player Biography

The winger joined the Gers back in 2017 having made the switch from Glasgow City and she has established herself as a vital member of the Rangers squad during her time so far, currently the club’s longest serving player to date.

Hay began her youth career at City in 2011 where she spent four years before moving up to the senior side. The 25-year-old made the switch to the Gers where she has been part of the recent success of the club, claiming both a first league title and Sky Sports Cup in 2022.

Her form has also seen her become a regular in the Scotland national team setup, where she was called up for the first time in November 2022. She has also featured for her country at various youth levels, from U15s all the way up to U23s.

In 2017 she was part of the Scotland U19 squad which qualified for the 2017 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship, with the winger making one appearance at the tournament.

The 27-year-old was also a regular in Jo Potter’s side in her first season as Rangers boss. Reaching the historic 100 appearance mark for the club and playing on 34 occasions overall in a slightly varied role in a three at the back system.

She played her part in both cup final successes including two assists in the win at Tynecastle over Partick Thistle. She was rewarded for her form by signing a three-year contract extension taking her stay in Glasgow to the summer of 2027.

In the 25/26 season, Hay was the standout performer for the Gers winning the club’s official Player of the Year accolade for her consistent showings throughout. Getting her hands on even more silverware as a player with another cup double and continuing to be a regular feature for her country.

During Leanne Crichton’s first season, Hay started the campaign positively with consistent showings before injury ruled her out for several months. She returned during the second half of the campaign, going on to rack up 19 appearances.
