Another product of the Rangers academy system and alongside a number of success stories that the club have produced over recent seasons, Sophie is now a full-time part of Leanne Crichton’s first-team squad.

The midfielder has enjoyed two successful loan spells at Motherwell, gaining top-flight experience as she continues to ply her trade in the game.

She was part of the Gers’ Champions League qualifying squad that headed to London for matches against both Arsenal and Atletico Madrid in September 2024, taking valuable lessons as a platform for future success.

Black spent the first half of the season at Motherwell, her second spell with the club, before being recalled by the Light Blues alongside Boyce in January 2026 to be a full member of the squad for the remainder of the campaign, scoring her first goal in a match against Hamilton and earning her first start in a 2-2 draw with Hibs in March.

Following her spell back with the squad from January 2026 onwards, Black was rewarded for her development with her first professional contract with the club, signing alongside teammate Lily Boyce for the next two seasons until 2028.
