The Gers are back in domestic action following their European exploits eight days ago, which saw their Europa League journey come to an end against Athletic Club.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference as the team makes the short trip to Paisley to face St Mirren in Scottish Premiership action tomorrow afternoon, he said: “I think these five games are big for us.
“I don't think at Rangers we can just pick out our games.
“You need to be there from the first game in July until the last game in May.
“We are gutted that it is only five games in May because you always want to end the season with a cup final but I think we need to take some pride in it and go full 100 per cent for these games, to win them, to have good performances.
“Hopefully, you can go out in the season with a little bit of a positive feeling because it has not been easy.
“That is going to be important, you cannot let it fizzle out.
The 30-year-old says he is keen to better his goalscoring tally of last season with the fixtures that remain, with him currently on target 23 times this campaign so far.
He continued: “You want to score every game.
“I think I am at 23 now for the season it would be very nice to cap off 25, but most importantly I just want to win these games.
“I want to win these games, have a good feeling with the team.
“We have been through a lot this season so it would be nice to end off on a positive note.”
The Nigerian forward has reflected on the days that followed after their European defeat, saying the team are keen to set the record straight when they make their return to the pitch.
He added: “The first days were hard, because we were not blown away so you feel like there was a chance to go through to qualify for the semi-final, so it hurts.
“After a few days then there is also a little bit of pride about the European run we had.
“I think before we started in the Europa League we had I think the hardest draw in the league phase and not only did we qualify but we also got in the top-eight.
“It is something to be proud of but then it is a long time, 10 days to the next game so we are happy to go out again tomorrow.
“St Mirren winning the last two meetings? I don't like that stat; I think as a team we have to take some pride in it to set some things straight.
“We cannot fully set things straight, of course, because those things happened already, but tomorrow we will need to show something to set those things straight.
“We cannot switch off yet, that is for sure, the summer period is the time to switch off.
“There will be a time and a moment for that, but I am not thinking about that yet and I don't think the other guys in the dressing room or the staff are thinking about that yet.
“We have a mission and a clear goal for these five games and that is clear.”
