Jess Pegram Joins On Season Loan From Brighton & Hove Albion

RANGERS Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Jess Pegram from Brighton & Hove Albion on a season-long loan deal, subject to international clearance.

The defender, who is 18-years of age, becomes Head Coach Leanne Crichton’s second addition of the summer and fourth for the club in total across the window, joining for the campaign from the English Super League side.

Pegram joined the Albion back in 2022 and made 39 appearances for the Under-19s side across all competitions. She was part of the squad that won the Nike Cup in 2023 against Tottenham Hotspur.

She has also featured for her national side at Under-17s and 19s levels respectively and put pen to paper on her first professional contract with her parent club back in April this year.

The centre-back will take the number five jersey at the club and strengthen Crichton’s defensive options further, as the team prepare for the first installment of the Old Firm derby on Sunday at New Douglas Park.

Speaking after signing for Rangers, Pegram commented: “I am very happy to be here. Rangers is a great club with great culture so I am really excited to get started.

“Rangers and Brighton share a lot of principles in terms of wanting to play attractive football, being a possession based team.

“I am also a young player so I am hoping to get experience in senior football and try get some minutes to keep improving.”

Head Coach Leanne Crichton said: “We’re really pleased to welcome Jess to Rangers for the rest of the season. “She’s a talented young player with great potential, and we believe this is a fantastic environment for her to continue her development. “Jess adds further depth and quality to our squad at the heart of defence and we’re excited to see the impact she can make throughout the campaign. “We’re looking forward to working with her and seeing her take the next steps in her career.”

Women’s and Girls’ Managing Director Donald Gillies added: “We’re delighted to be signing Jess on a season-long loan deal from Brighton.

“She is a talented young player who has come highly recommended from Brighton and beyond.

“Her physicality, defensive capabilities and willingness to learn and work hard align well with the values of the club and our ambitions. We’re excited to see her as part of the team this year and thank Brighton for their support and trust in acquiring a special talent.”
