In an emphatic 8-0 win over Partick Thistle, the Light Blues continued on their impressive form of late by sealing a last four place with the tie to look forward to in the first week in May.
Speaking to RangersTV to reflect on yet another positive afternoon for her team, she commented: “What pleased me most about the display? Everything about it, if I am being honest. I can be really pernickety, and I probably had a go at the players for a bit of perfection, I think the second half when we took our foot off the gas, but other than that, I thought we were excellent again.
“We picked up where we left off last week against Accies, I asked them to try and replicate the same type of play with the ball and the same ruthlessness inside the box.
“We created so many chances; it was eight going on 12 or 13 when you look at the chances that we have passed up.
“Again, it has been another opportunity to use the squad and introduce players in the second half and still try and keep that rhythm.
“Which you know is always going to be difficult, but I just think the way we went about the game today, really professional, driving the standard from start to finish.
“You can strive for that little bit of perfection, but the reality is there are few teams that are beating Partick Thistle with that type of score line, so you know that you have done your job and you have done it really well.”
It was a day of a variety of scorers for the Gers, including three of the starting backline finding the back of the net, as the former Scotland international was glad to see practice making perfect from what they had worked on in training.
She continued: “The goals need to come from all over the pitch. We are lucky that we have got so many talented attacking players, but the reality is you don't always get the chances that fall to them, or you get the chance to create for them in games.
“You need to be ruthless, whether it is set-piece opportunities. I think Nic's goal comes just from that kind of second phase and locking the box and being aggressive, defending on the front foot.
“Then we work on the set plays, it has been a real focus point for us certainly, since I came in at the club, it wasn't right in the beginning.
“There wasn't the same level of detail, and again, there has been a lot of focus; the players have been super receptive to make sure they finish those actions, and they are aggressive inside the box, and it pays off again.
“I'd love to say that these things happen by chance, but the reality is we have been working at it.
“The players have done exceptionally well to take it on and take it forward, and I think for the morale and feel-good factor around the group, it is always nice to have the goals and share them out.
“As a player, when you hit the back of the net, you always feel like you've contributed to the team, even if that is not your main responsibility within the game. It had a little bit of that today.”
Crichton highlighted the strength and depth within the ranks for how they continue taking positive strides in their campaign, as they now prepare to face off against Montrose in their final outing before the first international break of 2026.
She added: “There is no set XI, that is the reality. We have got so much depth to the squad, and even today, we are still a little bit lighter than we would have wanted to be.
“A couple of players just picked up some little knocks throughout the week, so there is no point risking, but with that, you have still got players knocking on the door.
“Super competitive in training, pushing each other, and that is what you need. We know we are getting to that business end in the season, we know how competitive the next block of games is going to be beyond that international break, but now we can take the moment that we have got.
“The goals that we have scored, the feel-good factor, take that into Montrose next week and hopefully we can finish really strong before we look to that international break and then focus beyond that.”
