The 18-year-old opened the scoring at the national stadium in the convincing 3-0 victory over Glasgow City, with Kirsty Howat also netting a double.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, she said: “We came off of quite a negative week last week but to come out and get the cup double is amazing. We know how good of a footballing team Glasgow City are, so I think to get that first goal really kicked us off and to go on and score three goals was amazing.
“To be 2-0 ahead at half-time was great, and then we came out in the second-half just ready to go. The third goal is so important in football, so it was a really big moment.
“The team are so good, I think we could've won by more, I think I could've scored a hat-trick myself, so that shows how we turn up to these games and how dominant we are in them.”
On her goal, McAulay continued: “I just remember getting the ball and I thought just hit it. The pitch is good, it is in good condition, and I just hit it along the floor, and it went in.”
With disappointment following last weekend’s league defeat to Hibernian, McAulay says the victory shows the character the squad have to respond in the manner they did.
She added: “It shows the character that we have got in the dressing room, we have bounced back, we have had a tough week, and we have come out and won the Scottish Cup and we have ended the season nicely.”
