The captain, who recently earned her 200th appearance for the Gers, will extend her stay in Glasgow into a seventh year.
Born in Falkirk, the defender joined her hometown club at youth level at the age of 10, spending eight years with the side before departing for the Light Blues for her first spell in 2010.
The full-back spent a season with the Gers before making the switch to fellow Glasgow side Glasgow City, enjoying eight years there before returning to Rangers in 2020.
She was part of the Gers side that claimed their first ever league title in the summer of 2022 under Malky Thomson, before tasting further silverware success in the form of the Sky Sports Cup in December in the same year.
She got her hands on her first piece of silverware as skipper leading the side for the first time in the form of the Sky Sports Cup, as Rangers successfully defended the trophy with a 4-1 win over Partick Thistle at Tynecastle in March 2024.
Having put pen to paper on a new two-year deal in the summer following that season, she helped the side to back-to-back cup doubles during Jo Potter’s tenure.
Her successful time on the pitch has seen her represent Scotland at Under-15s, 16s, 17s and 19s, whilst becoming a fully-fledged international and a continued regular in Melissa Andreatta’s squads to date.
Following the appointment of Leanne Crichton as Rangers Head Coach in August 2026, the 33-year-old has been an ever present in the Rangers ranks as she continues to put on consistent displays, recently racking up the 200 appearances milestone in the 4-0 Old Firm win on May 17, becoming the first women’s player in the history of the club to do so.
She will now look to help the Gers end the season with silverware, as they remain in the hunt for the title in the finale this weekend and go in search of a third Scottish Cup in succession at Barclays Hampden on May 31.

“I firmly believe she still has a massive part to play for this team, and we are thrilled she has chosen to continue her journey with the club she loves.”
Women’s and Girls’ Managing Director, Donald Gillies, also said: “Rangers is a club that demands success and Nicola has continually led us to that.
“She is a terrific example to any young player coming through, or any new signing coming to the club, what it means to be a Rangers player. We are excited to continue our journey together.”
