FINDLAY CURTIS is determined to make the most of every opportunity as he targets a successful season at Rangers.

The Academy graduate is enjoying working under Derek McInnes and believes there is a positive feeling within the squad as the Light Blues look to build on recent results.

Speaking to the media at the pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's match against St Mirren he said: “All of the boys in my position are doing really well, and the team is winning, and that’s the main thing at the club.

“All I need to do is impress, whether it’s coming on from the bench or starting games, and make sure I make that spot my own, but all the boys have been brilliant so far, and hopefully we can add success this year.

“Once I get that chance, whether it’s from the bench or starting games, I need to make that impact.

All I want to do is play my football here, and I’m enjoying it.

Curtis believes the manager has helped him develop both on and off the pitch; he continued: “In training and in games, he’s been so close to me. As one of the younger ones in the group, I try to drive the standards in training and in games, and that’s what I want to do.

“I think he’s brought that into my personality and my mentality. He has been a really good man-manager, and I’m just so happy that he’s here.

I love working under the manager and the staff, and there’s such a good vibe here at the minute.

“We’ve just got through to a cup final, and we’re doing really well in the league so far. All you can do is keep working hard.”

A boyhood Rangers supporter who has been at the club since the age of six, Curtis says the prospect of winning silverware provides further motivation.

He added: “We didn’t really start off well, but we’ve been picking up really good results, whether it’s home or away.

“It’s massive that we can win a cup before Christmas. Hopefully we can pick up that first silverware and go on and do really well this season.

“I believe the boys in there can go and do it.”

It would mean everything. Being a boyhood fan, it would be unbelievable.

The 20-year-old was this week named in the Scotland squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures, and is hoping he can add to his international experience too.

Curtis continued: "At the last camp I was in the first couple of days, and then I dropped down to the under-21's. I think I had to go and prove myself a bit, and I did that against Azerbaijan, and he called me back up at the end of the camp. I came on for the last 25 minutes, and it was an enjoyable couple of weeks away, so I am looking forward to this one as well.

"To play for the first-team at Scotland is every young boy's dream, and I am just delighted to be back at this camp, and hopefully I can make that impact again."
