The 18-year-old forward endured an injury-interrupted campaign last time out after his season was curtailed in February shortly after joining Alloa Athletic on loan.
He recently made the move to Airdrieonians on a season-long loan and registered his first assist for the club at the weekend in their away triumph over Peterhead.
Speaking to RangersTV to reflect on Tuesday’s victory over the League Two leaders, Gentles commented: “I’m starting to get back to feeling fully good again after my injury last season.
“Of course, I’ve been back fit for a while, but my touch and sharpness with the ball hasn’t been fully back.
“Now I feel that I’m fully there and back to as good as I was.
“Airdrieonians? I’ve really enjoyed it. I’m still trying to get in the team as it’s a settled team and I went in a bit later.
“I did well when I came on last Saturday, and I’ll give it my all whether I start or I’m called upon from the bench.”
Gentles got Rangers back on level terms with a thunderous strike from 25 yards out at New Douglas Park.
He also teed up Ashton Patton’s winning goal after the interval with a deft flick as the young Gers showed their powers of recovery from a goal down in the contest.
The teenager said of his side’s display: “It was tough. I thought we would be the better team on the ball like we are in most games, but we also had the physical side of the game in terms of set-pieces and throw-ins.
“It’s a tough place to come and we knew that before the game as we’ve played them before in the Glasgow Cup. But I thought we handled it really well.
“Of course, we were going to give up chances as they’re more physically developed than we are, but we created some good chances of our own going forward.
“It probably should have been more than 2-1, but I’m pleased that we played well.
“When you look back to last season’s competition and the number of goals we gave away from set-pieces, and even this year there was some slackness in the Bonnyrigg game.
“It was good to get back with a win, and it was just a bit steadier in terms of not giving away as many set-pieces. We dealt with it well and we took the points.”
