KATIE Wilkinson was delighted to reach 100 competitive goals for Rangers, becoming the first female player to achieve the milestone, as she netted twice in Sunday's 3-0 victory over Partick Thistle.

The striker also praised the work being done on the training pitch, explaining how the team's continued progress is translating into performances on the pitch as they booked their place in the semi-finals of the Sky Sports Cup.

Speaking to RangersTV after the match, Wilkinson said: “I think from start to finish you could see that we were really following the game plan.

“I feel like the weeks that we put in on the training pitch, we're building each week. We’re trying to improve different things and each game that we're playing at the minute, we're seeing that work on the training pitch come out, which as a player, you really buy into.

“The finishing product may be something to improve slightly, but a really convincing win for us and glad to be in the semis.”

Reflecting on her landmark 100th goal and the importance of the teammates who have helped her reach the achievement, Wilkinson was quick to share the credit with the squad.

She continued: “I'm super proud, to get 100 goals is a massive achievement.

“A big thanks to all the girls that have been part of the squad over that period of time that I have been able to score those goals, because without them, the ball doesn't get up to me without their hard work.

“There was a lot of positives to take away from today, especially in possession.

“We'll get back into training and put in the hard work, and we know what we've got to do on Sunday against Hearts, so we'll do our best to make that happen.”
